12 EXODUS EXPERIENCE

Visit 3 ancient countries and follow the route of the ancient Israelites through Egypt, Jordan and Israel.

DAY 1 CAIRO
Arrive Cairo, be assisted through passport and customs formalities, then you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight.

DAY 2 PYRAMIDS
Visit the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. Continue to the Valley Temple, Memphis - the old capital of Egypt. On to Sakkara, the step Pyramids and the Alabaster Sphinx.
Return to Your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3 CAIRO
Visit Old Cairo, the Citadel of Salah El Din, the Alabaster Mosque of Mohammad Ali and the Khan el Khalili Bazaar, the oldest and largest bazaar in the Middle East.
Later, you will explore the Cairo Museum exhibiting a fantastic array of antiques.
In the afternoon, visit the Church of St. Sergius and the Crypt of the Holy Family beneath it. Continue to the hanging church dedicated to the Virgin Mary and visit the Coptic Museum.
Back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 CAIRO, ST. CATHERINE
Drive to the Desert of Sinai. See the site where the Ten Commandments were given to Moses and visit St. Catherine Monastery at the foot of Mount Sinai.
Dinner and overnight at St. Catherine's Oasis.

DAY 5 ST.CATHERINE – JORDAN (PETRA)
Early morning wake up to ascend to the top of Mount Moses to experience a desert sun rise.
Transfer by coach or ferry to Jordan, Petra. Walk through the 'Siq' (canyon), the narrow entrance to the hidden Rose City, the ancient capital of the Nabateans. See the magnificent Treasury, carved in pink stone, the Roman Theatre, the Coronation Tomb and the Palace Tomb.
Dinner and overnight stay in Petra.

DAY 6 PETRA – AMMAN
From Petra drive on the desert road to Amman. On our way to Amman, we visit Madaba to see the beautiful mosaic floor of the Byzantine Church from the 4th Century showing the map of Jerusalem. Proceed to Mount Nebo where Moses stood and saw the Promised Land without entering it. Arrive at Amman, set amongst seven hills, is one of the most ancient cities in the world, with archaeological finds dating back to 3000 BC. We will visit Roman ruins including a 6000 seat amphitheatre, a forum and a street of columns.
Dinner and overnight stay in Amman.

DAY 7 AMMAN – JORDAN BORDER CROSS – MT TABOR – CANA
From Amman we drive back to Israel crossing the Jordanian border, Sheikh Hussein Bridge. We continue our way to Mount Tabor, the traditional site of the transfiguration symbolized by two large Churches on the mountain summit; Franciscan and Greek commemorate the event. After we visit Cana, the site where Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine during a wedding celebration. Visit the Jordan River Baptismal site.
Dinner and overnight stay in Tiberias.

DAY 8 TIBERIAS – BANIAS
We leave Tiberias by the Sea of Galilee to Tabgha, the site of the Miracles of the Fish and Loaves. Capernaum where Jesus started his preaching, visit the old Synagogue and house of St. Peter drive to the Mount of Beatitudes – where the Ceremony on the Mount took place. Visit Banias one of the Jordan River's sources, where Phillip, son of Herods, established the capital city for his kingdom on the Upper Galilee.
Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 9 NAZARETH – HAIFA – CESAREA – JERUSALEM
Visit the Basilica of Annunciation and The Well of the Virgin Mary at Nazareth. Then continue to Haifa to enjoy the spectacular view from Mount Carmel. Proceed to Cesarea, the city of Herod's, where you will visit the ruins of the Roman Theatre and the Crusaders City. Drive through Tel Aviv for a sightseeing tour and then on to Jaffa to visit the Harbor and St. Peters Church.
Proceed to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 10 JERUSALEM – BETHLEHEM
We enter the Old City of Jerusalem via the Dung Gate to visit the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount. Proceed to Mount Zion to visit the Cenacle – the Last Supper Room, King David's Tomb and The Dormition Abbey. Drive to Bethlehem, to visit the Church of the Nativity and the Shepard's Fields.
Drive to Ein Karem to visit the Church of the Visitation and John the Baptist's birth place.
Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 11 JERUSALEM
Drive to the Mount of Olives, where you can enjoy the spectacular view over the holy City. From there we descend to Josaphat Valley – visit the Pater Noster Church and the Church of Ascension, the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. After lunch, we will enter the Old City to walk the 'Via of the Cross' (Via Dolorosa) to the Holy Sepulchre.
Dinner and overnight stay in Jerusalem.

DAY 12 MASSADA – DEAD SEA – QUMRAN
Leave Jerusalem (800 meters above sea level) and head down to the Dead Sea (420 meters below sea level). We will visit Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. Then we will ascend by cable car to the top of the Massada Fortress – the last resistance place against the Romans and learn the heroic story.
Return to the Dead Sea for a floating experience and back to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 13 JERUSALEM – BEN GURION AIRPORT
Transfer from your hotel to the Airport for departure. A Nazarene Tours representative will assist with your formalities.
